First Lady, Joycelyn Lewis

Committed to be the First Lady You Can Trust

Joycelyn  is the daughter of the late Edith M. Wilson and Grant Davis and has one older
brother.   She is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and a former Speech and Language
Therapist with the Fayette Count Public Schools.  She is an active member of the Jimtown
Missionary Baptist Church where her husband Rev. Wendell L. Lewis serves as Pastor.
Joycelyn and her husband have two children and four God daughters.

In 1999 Joycelyn began hosting praise parties in her home because she believed in the
importance of women sharing the gospel rather than gossip.  Since then she has inspired
other women to do the same.  Her passion for inspiring and encouraging women led her to
be the founder of S.I.S.T.E.R.S. (Sisters Inspiring Supporting Teaching Encouraging and
Relating to Sisters) a women’s ministry that has supported and inspired women to use their
God given gifts and talents.

Joycelyn’s gift for teaching the Word of God has allowed her to speak at churches, women's
conferences and retreats.  She has also had the privilege of  serving as chairperson on the
Just Give Me Jesus Ministry Team of Lexington; be the Kentucky Conference Coordinator for
TimeOut for Women  and travel to Salisbury England and Acariqua Venezuela.   Joycelyn has
also  served as Assistant Class Administrator for
Bible Study Fellowship International.

She is currently working on her first Christian Fiction Novel and aspires to get it published in
the near future.  Joycelyn has most recently written three praise and worship songs and has
had them put to music.

Joycelyn is committed to be the first lady at JMBC to inspire not insult, comfort and not criticize
and to serve rather than to be served.
